Alexander Chang

I'm a based in Boston, MA.

Hey! Welcome to my website. I am currently a fourth-year computer science major at Northeastern University . I have strong interests in web development, software engineering, and data science.

In December I finished working at Blueport Commerce as a front-end development co-op. At Blueport, I mainly utilized a tech stack of Angular and SCSS to implement mobile-first web components. In September I also started working with Code4Community , an organization that aids non-profits in the Boston area. Currently, we are constructing a virtual senior center in partnership with Little Brothers Friends of the Elderly.

Most recently, from May to December of 2022 I worked at PathAI , a biotechnology company. Here I did full-stack web development utilizing Vue.js, Django, and PostgreSQL.

I have experience working with React, Angular, TypeScript, Node.js, and many other technologies. Currently learning Rust and WebAssembly.

Outside of school I am an active runner and soccer player. My favorite sports teams are Arsenal and the New York Red Bulls.

Spotocracy

Spotocracy is a web application that allows users to join a collective queue for song playback. Songs are played back through the device of the room creator, meaning only the creator of a spotocracy room is required to have a Spotify account. Users can vote on songs, and the most upvoted song is automatically played.

Brawl Stars Profile Visualizer Front End

Front-end for Brawl Stars profile visualizer. Brawl Stars is a mobile PvP game created by SuperCell. The front-end is built using React, and creates data visualizations utilizng Chart.js.

Easy Animator

Created an animator using Java. Used Java Swing for the UI. Animator allows for the creation, deletion, and modification of a variety of different 2D shapes. User can control position, color, size, and rotation.

Predicting Video Game Sales

Completed an analysis of a data set regarding video game sales, and used machine learning techniques to make predictions on the data. Used feature selection and model optimization to optimize predictions.

Colleges of Boston Analysis

Analyzed the impact that colleges have on the city of Boston. Looked at crime, trash, and housing prices data to determine the overall positive / negative effect that the schools have on the city.
